| The beach next to the accommodation is rather rocky which allows to jump over the sea without getting one's feet wet, the other half of it offers much space to swim. A small mooring was built for a cockle shell. |

Westwards the seaside road is passing several small beaches and bays and finally ends where a small river is flowing into the sea. At he beach there are two tavernas offering tasty cretan cuisine.

In the other direction, after Plakias' long sandy beach there are the bays of Damnoni, Amoudi and Scinaria with its distinctive charakteristics.
Finally Preveli Bay is reached where a natural palm forest stretches along the river towards the sea. Fine sandy beach, sweet and salty water next to each other with a small djungle in the background ... just enjoy.

On the other hand climbing one of the numerous hills is worth the effort, not to miss a walk through one of the beautiful gorges like Kourtaliotiko or Imbros.
Generally the area is rich in contrast and good views, there are many interesting details and - if you are open minded - refreshing encounters. |
